Background of the research

The purpose of this research group is to solve the problems of the artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) villages in the East Suwawa sub-district due to their mining activities, from multiple aspects such as the health, environmental, socio-economic, social, and cultural.

Currently, the researchers from the State University of Gorontalo (UNG) and SRIREP Project of Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), Kyoto, Japan are collaborating with the Bone Bolango government, especially East Suwawa District, for this KTK (Kampung Tangguh Kesehatan) “Healthy and Resilient Village” in order to carry out the relevant research.
