Medical Workshop on “Diagnosis of Mercury Intoxication by Methylmercury Exposure” was conducted as an online Zoom meeting on June 19, 2022, from 9am to 12pm (Gorontalo Standard Time) / 10am to 1pm (Tokyo Standard Time).

First and foremost, dr. Sri Asriyani, Sp.Rad(K), M.Med.Ed. Dean, Faculty of Medicine, State University of Gorontalo, delivered the Opening Speech prior to Dr. Shigeru Takaoka, Director of Kyoritsu, Neurology and Rehabilitation Clinic, Japan’s lecture presentation titled “Diagnosis of Mercury Intoxication by Methylmercury Exposure”.

At this workshop, Dr. Win Thiri Kyaw, Ph.D., Medical Researcher, Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), Japan, and Dr. Sri Manovita Pateda, M,Kes., Ph.D., Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine State University of Gorontalo, Indonesia acted as moderators as well as translators for Japanese to English and Indonesian to English respectively for the audiences.

dr. Dewi Nurindah Panai contributed as the master of ceremony.

A total of 156 attendees participated in the workshop. Most of the attendees were the medical students and doctors from Gorontalo and other cities of Indonesia, and actively participated in the discussion regarding the mercury intoxication by exposure to methylmercury.

This workshop was organized by the SRIREP Project, Mercury Free Society Network (MFSN), Faculty of Medicine, State University of Gorontalo, Indonesia, and Medical Doctor Association, Indonesia.
